A way to easily defeat Ruby weapon with just Barret:

Have 8 Hero drinks, and loads of X-potions.

Barret

Missing Score
Wizard Bracelet
Ribbon

doublecut-speedplus counter-mime counter-mime counter-mime
counter-mime counter-mime counter-mime counter-mime

At the start Barret can use a hero drink, then wait for the Ruby weapon to do something, and Barret will counter by using 7 hero drinks. Then Barret can use "4xCut" and wait, when Barret counters again, Barret will do "4xcut" 7 times (each can be close to 9999 thanks to the hero drinks). So that's almost 280,000 in just one counter. Then just wait so Barret can counter again. After the second time Barret may need to use an X-potion. Then Barret can use "4xcut again", and wait to counter.

I don't know about any video.

I'm talking about a way for Barret to defeat Ruby Weapon.

After Barret drinks the 8 'Hero Drinks' he should be very resistant to most of Ruby weapon's attacks, for example; 'Ruby ray', 'Ruby flame', and 'Comet 2' hardly do any damage at all.

Anyway, I believe this is it (http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/!!stuff/qhimm/ff7_emerald.avi)?  But, this is not of Ruby Weapon.

Each Hero Drink you give to a character raises a mod flag (for attack) by 30 for that character, with a maximum of 100.  This is inside the battle-damage formula.
Similarly, in accounting for defense of the target, Hero Drinks raise two flags by 30 and Dragon Force (as another example) raises them both by 50, each with a maximum of 100.


Try giving Barret only 4 Hero Drinks or two Dragon Forces and see if you get the same results.
