Eidos got sold to a totally different company, Im wondering, who is the owner of FF7 PC version? SquareEnix or Eidos? if Eidos then that means FF7 is totally legal to modify every part of the game and stuff LOL, the company wouldnt care cuz its sold

I think it's safe to assume that SquareEnix still has enough rights to FF7 to get us in trouble if they wanted to.

Sorry to burst your bubble, it 9 times out of 10, its NEVER legal to reverse engineer ANY software, "abandonware" or not...
Speaking of Abandonware, I learnt the other day, that Abandonware is a cover name for distributing old games, even though they are still supported. The true name for Titles abandonded by developers is just freeware...
And to think I was downloading it for years!
Still not managed to find Bubble Bobble that works on XP though :( I misss that game so much... Takes me back...10 years? Where I played it non stop on the amiga thats set up next to me now....
But im babling on, Ill shut up now

Eidos just published the thing.... I'm sure the actual game still belongs to Square.
And quite Frankly, the techsupport that was once Eidos, wished FF7PC never existed. FF7PC was dead to them, a long time ago. The only solutions to problems within the game are the ones, us users, came up with. They didn't even fix the Chocobo Crash. At least, not that we know of. Jedwin never said *what* Software company, he worked for.
