to answer your question, yes, you will be able to play it with epsxe.you will need the emulator itself,a psx bios (SCPH1001 or SCPH7502,google is your friend),and a graphics and audio plugins for the emulator.and perhaps some tool for making cd images, running from images is recommended.see the following two links and you should have the game running in few minutes:

(note that those seetings are for fast pcs,you will have to tune them down if you have an older pc.)

and a small message for all the people who like to post just to accuse other people,a nice, large and friendly community of similar useless souls can be found here (http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=forums).have a nice day.

As far as I can tell he was just being careful, there is a rather anti-piracy attitude on this site.

Typically we don't assume piracy unless there's some outspoken grounds for such suspicions. Kanye's story seemed plausible enough to begin with, so I apologize for the less than warm welcome. We (as in I, really) do look down on piracy of these games, and after encountering it time and time again, our members are getting more careful before helping new users. They're usually more polite about it than accusing people of lying though, and the basic assumtion is supposed to be that the user is legit unless shown otherwise, not the other way around.

As voodoo47 points out, you basically just need the emulator, bios image (*cough* "illegal" *cough*), and the basic set of plugins. His info should be enough to get you running, but if you run into problems feel free to reply again in this topic.

I wouldn't believe anyone would pirate one of the PS1 FF's these days.  You can get them for what, $5 on ebay or in the bargain bin at your ebgames/gamestop?

You would be supprised about that....

Over here, in the shops, games like FFVII really isnt that easy to get a hold of, some shops still sell it at the equivilant of $40

Also, appologies if I appeared to come on too "strong".  It certainly didn't appear thatway to me at all.

I would have just told you to read the readme file that comes with epsxe, before asking any questions about it. If you're too lazy to read the instructions....then I'm too lazy to help you.
