Title: FF9 PAL UK
Post by: Anonymous on 2001-05-31 15:16:00
Very simple question. Have anyone actully played the FF9 PAL UK version on any emulator?
As ar as I understand it someone must either make a PPF patch or something or simply emulate PSX/Libcrypt(http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_libcrypt_tutorial.shtml).
Does anyone here know anything more about this?

Not as far as I know. Of course, anything's possible in theory.

I heard it will be near impossible for a crack cause Square put insane copy protection on FFIX Pal. This copy protection in sted of just checking when the game is run check it at 100s of points thought the game. Shame I have a pirated version. I woul dbe the offcial Pal version but....it dosent work! Screw you sqaure!

Like fice said, nothing is impossible.
When things don't get solved, it's usually because people have better things to do or no one is bothered to do so.

What does PAL mean?  I guess since I can emulate FF9, I don't have a PAL copy, yesno?

PAL = Phase Alternated Logic, IIRC.

More usefully, it's the TV format used in Europe (more or less) and in some other countries.

USA and Japan are NTSC, so if you've got a US or Japanese version, it's NTSC.

Close, it's Phase Alternating Line. http://home.cfl.rr.com/duplicator/general/pal_vs_ntsc.htm
