Title: Fresh FF7 install - recommended patches?
Post by: Casman on 2005-07-07 17:39:26
The game is installed. For optimal experience, what patches should I install, and in what order as not to corrupt the game or anything? I'm most intrested in the psf music patch.

That depends on what OS you are using.

You should install the official 1.02 patch (http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/downloads/ff7_1.02.zip).

In case you are running WinXP, you should also install Qhimm's Chocobo Patch (http://www.qhimm.com/ff7_chocobo_patch.zip).
I have also installed the Upside-down Move Patch (http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/hosting/ffsf/downloads/ff7betap1.exe)

That's all I have installed and the game runs pretty well.
If you want more, browse the Game Tweaking forums.

I also suggest the FFVII Reunion patch, which is in the 'Battle Model > Field Model Conversion' thread, last page.

Nah, reunions patch isn't done yet, and it doesnt help gameplay any.

However, once your game is up and running, i do reccoment the high-res cloud mod.  Makes the battles look much nicer =)

You can find it here:

http://www.ff7-universe.com/Downloads/cloudhighres.zip

note: I think you need ficedulla.dll to make this work.  You can get it at fice's site, here: http://www.ficedula.co.uk/ (go to webpage, and ficedulla.dll)

Wow... three month old thread...

Anywhoo, it shouldn't.  If you're worried about it, just back up the saves.
