You may remember my costa del sol model from quite a while back. Well, I've finally gotten off my lazy butt and worked on it some more. I decided to go for an anime cell style instead of super realism for the moment, and this is the result:

Turned out rather well so far methinks :D Still a ways to go yet though heh.

Cool looks good look like the zelda game. Anyway looks good but it makes me want to see it in super realism. When i see your model for the 1st time i see it look real. Anyway i am big fan of anime and you won me over this time

What was that all made with?
-
ice_cold: Thanks :) I've been getting into using toon shaders a lot recently and couldn't resist seeing how this looked heh. I'll be working on the textures and maps for the realism version at some point though, so you can see it in all it's glory :D
Lenas: the entire thing was built using 3ds max 5. Oh, and I opened photohop once just to create the sky texture. Here's a wireframe if you want to see just how complex it actually is underneath:

Very cool Radiosity! 8)
I was hoping to hear from you again. :D
Again, can't wait to see more! :)
-
Impressive, what type of toon shaders are you using?
-
I can say only one word: Godlike. :)
-
Thank you all :)
Borman: I'm actually using the standard toon shader (Ink n Paint material) that ships with Max 5. I intend to get hold of Final Toon at some point though for all the extra features it includes.

Although I have to admin that I don't like the cell-shading style in zelda, but this render looks quite interesting...

Now just model and render all the other locales, and we can put to rest all the complaints about blocky backgrounds. XD
-
Didnt even notice that there was one in Max lol. Gunna have to take a look at that
-
Sweet work! ...as usual! :D
 I never could get that material to work properly...
-
I'm a fellow 3D Studio Max student myself!
Great Great work man!
By Any chance can we view this with the realistic textures? Without the toon shade, but don't get me wrong. What I think your did was brilliant and better than anything I could hope to do with toon shade!

Wow.. First off.. I can't believe that I've missed this thread..
Radiosity, seriously.. Great job! That's really cool.. I do work in photoshop, but nothing like you did here.. I'm way late, but I just wanted to say awesome stuff..
