After installing my new gfxcard drivers, The latest omega's I now get a handy FPS display in the top right corner of the screen.
now, when I enter a battle, it only regesters ar 16FPS and it looks the same speed.
I always remember battles being more fluid and not as slow :/
Is there something ive done wrong, or is this normal?

I don't know what framerate the battles run at, but I know it is considerably slower than 30, it's never really looked that fluid to me. :-P
(I guess this is so that they could shove a little more detail into the PSX version...?)

Cause the main game im told is running at 99FPS...
I just swear the PC version was alot more fluid and less scrathy :(
Thanks anyway Aaron

Hello there.
After having reinstalled ff7 on my computer today, I'm getting the same problem (low framerate in battle). FRAPS tells me I'm at 15 fps while I'm at 30 fps outside battle.
Somehow I remember ff7 being much much smoother on my voodoo 2 years before, especially the winning animation of cloud where you could see the sword spinning smoothly.
Is there a way to get better fps with nowaday's vga cards?

We're talking about FFVIII here, not FFVII.
FFVIII has 99 FPS out of battle and is limited to 16 FPS in battle...
Surely theres gotta be some way to unlimit it?
