I been browsing these forums and i came across some solution making the music and high resolution patch work in ff7, but didn't work. Maybe that method just didnt like me, but anyways i been experimenting with the patches and nothing. Anyone else got a solution, A workable solution once and for all.

Just use the multipatch install. Check both the resolution and the music patch part, then install. Should both be working.
-
doesnt work if u use the multipatch
download and install the high res patch, install it on top of the 1.02 patch. then download and install ff7music with ff7 soundfont
i done it and its workin =]

burnzy is right, dat multi patch doesnt work, the music patch doesnt seem to combine with the high resolution patch.
"download and install the high res patch, install it on top of the 1.02 patch. then download and install ff7music with ff7 soundfont"
Ima give dat a try.

well been trying to install the music patch myself, but after i did i got no music whatsoever in the game... i may need something other then the music patch :p

I've read around here that you need to mute / disable something in the options.. and then you'll start hearing music....

Oh yeah, knock down hardware acceleration for sound in the DXDIAG menu... I think thats what does it.

Or go into the FF7 Config menu, and go to the Music section, and look for a device to play MIDI's, but doesn't actually play them.. (through the speakers at least).. no more MIDI's.. but..
I am sure it would be one of those two.. haha. More probably James Pond's answer though.. :P
