Okay, first I will start by asking this: If someone were to backup their PSX version of FF7 to their computer, and then applied the patches to the PSX files (assuming they used the same directory tree and the same types of files), couldn't they then play a PSX version of FF7 with all the cool patches on an PSX emulator on their computer, or by backing up the modded disk and playing it on their PSX (assuming they had means to do so?)
Anyone else had thoughts on this.. or is it just me..?

No, its a different file system from what I know.

Just you ;)
Nah, seriously, PSX uses a completely different way to play discs, therefore is impossible to apply any PC patch.

Sorry. I didn't read that. I just read the text in the profile that said 100x100.. will change soon.
sk-f: oh, okie. I just figured it might be possible. *shrugs* oh well..

Actually, there is one that might work. The difficulty-mods edits scene.bin, of which both the PSX and the PC version has (same size too). So with a little know-how, you should be easily able to replace the scene.bin on the PSX-discs (and either burn it anew, or play on an emulator)

Hmmm... thanks for the info... I'll look into that when it gets more completed.. cuz, I have a feeling that the Hardcore patch isn't dead.. just on short hiatus.

You would need to check that the files are the same.
It may have a scene.bin, doesnt mean the same files are in it though..

They're exactly identical. The SCENE.BIN in the PSX version can be used in the PC version and vice versa. I only have the PSX version and the hardcore patch works fine, however I don't really want to go into details on how to put the BIN file on the PSX disc image.

wich programme must I use to view the files on the playstation disk?
-
You can use ISOBuster to extract the files. Or you can just set windows to display hidden files. Reading the files is easy... writing them back into a MODE2/2352 image is slightly more tricksy.

Not really.. it's easier than you think..
