Recently my game pad stopped working (I have a usb dual shock connector). It worked just fine all the time, but recently it just ceased to work! I don't know what happened. Please help!

Goto Start, control panel, Game Controllers, select yours, click advanced (it should come up with a window that says: select to use with older programs), then click ok. Now it should work. If yours isn't there to begin with, reinstall the drivers and it should work fine.

Thank You very much for the reply. I did what you said. Still the controller doesn't work. It really worked fine. Maybe I messed something up ? I was trying to make my ff7 work with my new gpu (fx 6200) and it works fine now, besides the damn gamepad. I don't know what's wrong.

Have you tried re-installing the driver/directX? Your gamepad should have come with a cd or something. Now, lets make sure your gamepad doesn't work on anything before we start blaming ff7. See if you can find a calibrate option in 'Game Controllers' in the control panel. Also if you have any emulators: ZSNES (http://www.zsnes.com) try and see if your controller works with that.[/url]

Yes, I did reinstall the drivers. The gamepad works fine with znes, epsxe and other pc games. It just stopped working in ff7 all of a sudden. That's strange and I have no idea what else to do.

Hmm, thats odd, have you tried re-installing FF7? (Keep your saves in a different folder)

Have you tried re-assigning the keys to your gamepad? Or is it failing to accept input even when you try to reprogram them?

Once my gamepad refused to register any buttons but the X button. I went nuts trying to figure it out, buying a new pad and everything. No go.
I ended up having to uninstall a couple optical mice that were conflicting with the gamepad's connector.
