I know I could do this but learning hex for such a simple thing isn't my idea of fun. I know someone out there can do this if just few minutes so it's much easier this way.
I would like you to replace how Cloud's swords look like with Yoshiyuki because I find it much better looking that boardswords and those weird artistic and big ones. Stats should be normal, but the models changed. Keeping Nail Bat as it is should be good since it looks realistic.
I'd really appreciate if you'd do this for me. Thank you.

Actually, you wouldnt need to learn hex at all.
the procedure is still complex, though, because i don't know the specifics.
basically, you would use lgptools to find and extract the Yoshiyuki (From battle.lgp), then all of cloud's other weapons. Copy and re-name the yokoshushi the same as all the other swords (So if the Yoshiyuki is aaaf, and the buster swords is aaaa, copy the yushiyuki and name it aaaa.)
then, re-import everythign back into battle.lgp
it will probably take a while to locate and extract all the files, but once you've done that, renaming and re-importing probably shouldn't be too hard =)

Wouldn't this make them all the same stats as well? I don't want to end up with 10 yoshiyukis. :P

No it would not. All Emperorsteele is suggesting is changing the models that are displayed. The models are all that is found in the lgp archive. The game has a separate database that has the statistics of all the weapons, in the database it has the weapons stats linked with the model in the lgp. By keeping all of the original model names the same in the lgp archive, the database will still link up where you get the weapon, its stats, etc. Lgp tells the game how it is displayed. If you replace all of clouds weapon models with the same model (example buster sword) you're gonna always have what looks like the buster sword. I swapped out Cloud's ultimate weapon model with the buster sword. At the end I got what looks like the buster sword, but definitley has better stats.

Ah, thank you very much you two. *Starts working on it.*
And a problem off the bat. Tried to view the files using Ifalna and tested Leviathan too, but leviathan is only monsters and stuff and Ifalna isn't opening anything for me.
Hmm, Ultima works. So glad we have plenty of programs to choose from. :P
As I looked at models and Alhexx's battle model index I noticed there are no items in battle.lgp

Since editing didn't seem to cut it... Help please. :P

Use LGPTools to view/extract the files, then rename them in windows, then just plop them back in using LGPTools again. You can find lgptools at fice's page.

I still can't find the files. -.-
