maybe I get hte error because my computers lack a file everyone else's has! my version of windows 98 is far from perfect.

also: ive found several floats in the startup stuff.

Dim SpecRef(3) As GLfloat

also: almost everything in the module is a float.

ok! forget everything I just said. The limited version of ultima you gave me runs fine until it trys to draw the polygon.

heres what happens: It draws the the other views of it, but i have to reset the view to standard for all of them to work. Till then its jsut a grey screen. then I get to the polygon and it errors:

glVertex3f 0, 0, 1000

I have Win98SE and Ultima runs perfectly fine on my PC (after I got the JSGReg thingy).

Darkness: You're using a Voodoo, aren't you? To put it bluntly, Voodoo's do *not* have decent OpenGL support (V5 is ok I think, but not anything before that). It might be nothing more than that.
Whether it uses Floats or not should have nothing to do with it! On anything more powerful than a 486SX the CPU can handle floats no problem. ALL PC's will use Floats as a normal part of operation.

Dark-Raver: Ultima was created under Win98.. how do you came to the idea that I'm using ME?

Okay, I'm going to get WinXP, when it's released in Germany...

Fice: That's an idea (well, okay, you're our OpenGL-King  :) )I don't know much 'bout which Card supports what...

I couldn't believe that it's because of the floats themselves...

Darkness: Perhaps you should post a topic and ask if someone else is using a Voodoo Card and has this problem...

If you go to www.gamedeveloper.org/delphi3d/hardware  it lists the OpenGL capabilities of quite a few cards. It's about a year out of date, but that's not too bad (the authors' new site, www.delphi3d.net,  is getting an updated version soon-ish).
