At various times over the last couple of years i've thought "hmmm, i'd love to see the FFVIII FMVs again". Lacking the sphere theatre function of FF10, this hadn't been an easy option. I have downloaded a couple from the 'net, but to keep filesizes down the quality is invariably awful.
So i was amazed when i stumbled across this site today, and discovered FF8FMV, which claimed to be able to extract them directly from the disks. After a little puzzling, though, i've kinda come to the conclusion that it means from the PC-Game discs, not the original Playstation ones. Which would explain why i can't get it to work.
So anyway, can anyone reccommend a program out there than can get the FMVs from my discs? I did find one post with a link, but it was dead, unfortunatly. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Some downloads from http://www.ngemu.com/download.php?action=cat&id=10 may be helpful.

Thanks. I've actually discovered and tried psxmc since posting that request. But i have a problem with it (the can't read TOC, drive may not be ready problem) which seems common-ish, but no-one can solve. And i heard anyway, that the FMVs ripped from FFVIII have no sound. So thanks for the help, but i think i'm abandoning this idea for now.

I don't remember what tool I used, but back in the day (maybe 4 - 5 years ago), I ripped the FMV from the PSX CDs, and there was sound. The only sound that's missing is from the music, because those are played simultaneously with the music.

Makes me glad to own the PC version. Despite it being a bad port, 640x480 FMVs are sexy.
