Title: FF7 vertex colour to diffuse?
Post by: Nii on 2005-11-22 00:51:22
Hi guys...

I was busy animating my newly imported FF7 models (yay!) but I need to work out how to somehow convert all vertex colour textures to a diffuse map (bitmap, watever) in 3d Studio Max 5.

Any ideas?

I think Maya has an "export attribute as texture" function. If Max doesn't have that you'll have to write a tool for that yourself.
(Or you could get Maya PLE, export the texture, and then use Photoshop to edit-out the watermark. That is not very nice, though.)

There is no Vertex Color Texture - there are just Vertex Colors.
However, as far as I know, 3ds max supports Vertex Colors...
