Hi everyone. Before I made this topic I did some searching but didnt really find a solid answer to my specific problem. Ever since I downloaded Rivatuner and did the 8-bit thing, FF7 has been looking pretty sweet. However it ruined my other games so I sacrificed the highres patch so I could play them again but I still suffer the same problems. Plus, I now experience FF7 crashing when it tries to do that swirling battle transition thingy. My specs are as follows:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2200+
GPU: nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE
SPU: SBLive!
RAM: 1GB
I tried reinstalling everything and repatching, but nothing is working so far. Also tried using different drivers but to no avail. The other problems i'm getting with the other games are rainbow colors like on textures and stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I just want my video card running like it used to. Thanks.

Just go to Rivatuner and turn 8-bit textures back on.

I've been experiencing the same crash when the swirley battle thing comes. It freezes up for around 2 seconds, then the music starts playing (the screen stays black), and the FF7.exe has encounteered a problem ... error comes. I have RivaTuner and it has 8-bit textures enabled. Here are my specs (I've had it continuing to randomly crash like this since I started):
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (OC'ed to 2000+)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X
RAM: 512mb
MODS: High Res, 1.02, FFVIIXP 1.4, FF7Music, Minigame Patch (dzuigo)
Is it because I have the FFVIIXP 1.4 patch installed? Or is it something else.

Yes, I read the post, but is that why my game keeps crashing? Is there any solution to my problem -_-

Did you install any other patches, like the "High Poly"-Battle Version of Cloud?

Nope, those are all of the patches that have been installed. Anyone have any suggestions?
