Title: Hardware mode error!

I know that this problem is related to my nvidia drivers (78.01). The latest drivers fixed this for me, but they also broke dvd playback and every other game I own. Does anyone know what causes this error and how to fix it (maybe with rivatuner) or what newish drivers fix this? I'm using a 6600gt and software mode runs like crap for movies! thanks!

You may not ahve uninstalled your old dirvers correctly.  Get Driver Cleaner pro, uninstall your drivers, reboot, hit F8 to get into safe mode, and run DCP.  Then, restart agian and instlal your dirvers all nice and fresh.

If that doesnt work, nvidia will likely release new drivers in a day or so if more people have the same problem(s) you are.

are you by any chance using a gem monitor?
try using a different monitor and see what happens
