Title: Train ride to Corel

First I'd like to start by saying this is a really cool forum, I have read all the FAQs and have searched around a bit for my question which has brought me here. My new home.
 
MY QUESTION: I have FFVII for the PC and I'm trying to stop  the train from running into Corel and get the huge materia. My problem is, that when I try to get to controls to go up or down on the locomotive my buttons just don't seem to work. I'm using the keypad and have to press 8 and + at the same time. Is there anyway to get around this or am I doing something wrong? Has       anyone else had this problem? I've searched around and I hope that I'm not reviving a dead thread.

all you have to do is press [OK] 3 times to stop the train, iirc.

I'll give it a shot, but i think it;s like the numpad doesn't even seem to recongize that i;m pressing buttons.

Are you on a laptop? There's a patch for people using laptops having problems with the key setup.

no it's not a laptop. i saw the patch for that. i've tried everything and i don't want to lose this huge materia or wreck the town after all the hours i have put into it. i have thought about downloading a game right after corel and using jenova to set ALL my inventory and limits to where they are now. But that's probably more work than i need to do.

Ahh! I just reached this part this morning and to my surprise i have the same problem, ive tried a few times and just can't get it to stop either any suggestions?
