Title: Counter Attack materia in FF7?

HOLY CRAP. Im about to go crazy, does chocobo racing give you counter attack materias? Ive been racing and winning in S class and havent got one yet. Ive gotten like 20 cats bells and all that, but not counter attack materia. Im about to cheat to get it, because this is pissing me off. Does what track you race in determine prizes or anything like that?

You can buy it later in the game, just check every town...I did.

I've got like 8 counter-attack materia^

After winning few (10?) races in S-Class, Ester will give you Counter Materia. You can also find it in Northern Crater.

yeah i got all that from her, but that only puts me up to two counter-attacks, ill try junon, but from all the strategy guides i read, you cant buy it.

i just read over a guide and it looks like you can get it somewhere in the nibel mountains, which is the earliest opportunity

its probably in a chest somewhere

yeah, the materia keeper on nibel mountain drops it, but i wanna get around...40 or so ^_^ and thats no easy task..jenova is sooo tempting right now.

40 legit counter-attack materia? I don't know if thats possible, but try Fort Condor...(After geting highlander) I think...

with 3 chars, I don't think you could equip all that...not sure though.

If you could it would be almost infinite attacks kept up...

nope, fort condor is a no go...Man, I know its possible, I just cant figure out how, Chocobo racing isnt getting me any.

You could cheat and get 40 copies that way. OR you could work the counters that you get to master materia.  Why do you need 40 though? you are limited to 200 materia total apart from what's carried. Do you want to have like 24 counters when attacked or something?

I do not think you can counter-attack 40 times; it's just not possible, even with max slots on each char...you've got to understand that^

Let's see... Weapon with 8 slots and armour with 8 slots... That's 16. 3 chars with 16 slots = 48 slots. And each Counter Attack materia works independently.

Hehe, well I did not go ingame to check ,my internet keeps crashing, so it's limited time.

Well damn, imagine if you did that with Mime and a good summon or something.

Don't you think that will take some fun out of the game? seriously.

Nothing can wistand that if you do decent dmg.

even the "Weapons" will be sinchy...

I know what you mean I guess; I am using Jenova on my second time through. Just for some gil and GP, nothing big.

Given time, you could get 40 Counter attacks.

just master it 40 times, each time you master one, it spawns a new one.
