Title: FF8 PC Trying to Fix a slight Sound delay -FILE REQUEST-
Post by: protoss1210 on 2006-01-14 04:19:50
Hello, i own both FF7/FF8 for pc just incase anyone starts asking, but the only small issue i have is with FF8 (Singapore CDs). Some of Squall's limit breaks have sound delays NOT related to computer performance. So i believe the problem is may audio.dat file ( Even thought Im totally guessing.  :-? )

My audio.dat file is 103,233kb (100MB) and was modified on November 18, 1999; 1PM. If anyone has a FF8 version that works with no known sound bugs, could you check your file size for any difference to mine? If so, possibly i can try using that file?

It's probably your driver
and
go to ff7config.exe
and try other sound settings :o

Yes, it's a known issue.  There shouldn't be anything wrong with your audio.dat file that could cause that.

Have you tried changing the sound acceleration settings for DirectX? Load up dxdiag.exe and fiddle with the settings.
