Hello,
I've got FF8 with installed 1.2 patch for GeForce graphic cards and I'm using GF 6600 GT with the latest 81.98 drivers. Unfortunately the game doesn't work properly, I can play it with sound stutter during FMVs, but I can't use D3D mode, because I get so black pools on the screen and have to switch to Software Renderer.
Is there any way to fix this problem? I'd like to play with full D3D support, the graphic seems a bit better, especially bacground when fighting :)
Thx anyway!

It sounds like the problem would be solved simply by installing the official Geforce patch. Try it.

Where to get it? I've installed already 1.2 patch from Qhimm site, but still no good.

Have you tried this version?

Well, actually this is the US version. If you have a different version of the game, you should look for the one that fits for you.
If it fails, try turning off FSAA.

I have this patch installed, but it doesn't work.
I'm not using FSAA at all.

Do you mean that the game doesn't run at all? What language is your FF8 in?
-
you tried turning 8bit support on with ritatuner

I tried to force 8-bit palleted texture support via rivatuner, but doesn't work.
The game runs well even with D3D, but I see some black blocks on the screen. I'm using the English version of the game.
