Title: FF7 Black Border
Post by: StrangeBiscuit on 2006-02-03 19:18:55
Hi, I've scoured this forum and others for hours to find a possible solution for this, and have heard some others asking, but no responses.

When I play FF7 on my PC I get a black border on the bottom of the screen. This is only when when wakling around in towns and such, in battlemode, and during movies. When I'm in the menu, its full screen. So is the title screen. I've done everything I can think of, tried all combinations of patches and have tried software and hardware rendering, to no avail. It doesn't render the game unplayable, but its frustrating to loose a good percentage of screen size.

Any one know what to do for this?

I think it's always been there.
If it hasn't, then I never noticed when it first started appearing.

Yes, this is normal.  It has to do with FF7 PSX's resolution actually being less than 320x240, which is what the game runs in.  (Well, if you set it to 640x480, it is just doubled, but the black bar is there for the same reason.)

Probably a noobish question, but is there any patch to eliminate it?
