Title: Yet another FF7 Question

Hi ive just bought the game after many years out.. this time on the pc and noticed that when i came to play the game the graphics werent anything too special *far from it infact*. However im not looking for any unoffical patch with hidden crap to ruin the game what so ever. Can anyone help me with finding the right patch?

Well, there are very few official patches for FF7 (in fact, even the Chocobo patch is unoffical). If you don't care if it's unoficial, you've got a wide range of available patches. What do you want?
-Better resolution? Then use The Saint's Higher resolution patch (it sets the game at 1280x1024).
-Better models? Well, you can use Reunion's patch to replace the standard blocky field models with those from the battles. It doesn't replace all the models though. There is another project (I'm working on it) to redo all the other models, but it's far from completion yet.
-Better music? Use FF7Music and use hi-quality MP3 instead of the old crappy midis.
-Filtered backgrounds? Jejeje... yeah, me too. Too bad there is no patch for that (and I think there won't be for a loooooooooong time).

Right I have a problem.. come to do the 1.2 patch hoping for a graphics graphics fix , change all the config to nvidia TnT 600x400 (im using a gforce 6600GT if that makes any relevance) and everything seams to be fine for a whole 2 seconds. I move around go onto a new screen then I get a FF7 error msg.  *sigh*
Any ideas peeps I really want decent looking graphics not pixalated blocks  :(
