Ok, I just recently re-installed FF8 onto my computer, and when I loaded it, I had transparency problems all over the place! I thought "Oh, duh, I have a GeForce card, have to install the patch for it! So I did (FF8SqeaNV...). I loaded the game, and the error is still there! I'll try to link to a screenshot of this later. Does anyone know what the problem is?
I'm running Windows 98 SE, with DirectX 8.0a, a 3D Prophet II MX, and the 12.40 Detonator Drivers. It's worked before with this setup, I'm sure...

I've had that prob with Resident Evil 2, too, but I don't remember how I solved this prob. Sorry!

a quick fix:
get hold of rivatuner, upload the criver databse that matches your detonator drivers, then upload the best direct3d quality prefix.

K, this is weird, but here's what I did, and the problem got fixed. I went to the Hercules website, downloaded the 14.10 drivers, and enabled 8-bit paletted textures. One of those steps somewhere fixed it.
