In an effort to save everyone's eyesight, I have added an additional theme for everyone while Qhimm is still working on the new design.
To set the theme, go to your preferences and choose "The SaiNt's Temp Theme" or "The SaiNt's Temp Theme 2" whichever you prefer. When the new design is out, those themes will be removed
-
Cool... I like the dark colour scheme!
-
I like the darker scheme, it saves my eyesight, now i can bear to be at the board for more than 5 mins
-
Yeah, I like the black one too.

Lol, yeah the black one's better. It's the same colour scheme I use at the NextFF board too.
-
Mirex.... go to Preferences (top of this screen) and then find the bit where it says:
Board Theme:
And from the drop down box choose one of the options there! I recomend "The SaiNt's Temp Theme 2."
-
Yep, the black one's quite cool (but I still would prefer Qhimm's 'old' design)
1. This black theme reminds me of the NextFF forums...
2. I think now you've got to create other 'New Topic' and 'Post Reply' buttons - the white one's don't look well

Ah, yes. This dark color scheme is much nicer than that default one. Thanks, Saint.
I take it Qhimm's working on a theme with a customized banner and buttons and such. I can't wait to see it!

Of course!
I just copied the template over
No point designing another one since qhimm is already doing the "real" one.
The new one looks cool btw  *hint*

We'll see about that. It depends if I get the time.
Exactly. Just about 9 out of 10 forums that are FF related in any way seem to use black or very dark color schemes. That's why I think that the old, white one was so cool.
Yeah, cause darker colours are easier to blend into. White one's look more clean & professional.
Interesting, quoted text seems to appear LARGER than normal text.
It's sort of a bug. When I changed the default messagetextsize of the original phpBB, i forgot about the quoted text. I'll be fixing it soon. Then the fix will be sent to Qhimm
-
Yea...the darker one is definately better of the two!
-
Jedimark: thanks. I dont know how could I miss it. It was hidden somewhere. Yeah, black one is fine. But board looks still buggy for me, sometime I have that theme, sometime not, or I get just mess instead of page. :weep:
-
Yeah, I think it has something to do with the cookie it stores. Maybe if Qhimm set The Saints Theme 2 as default.... please?
-
Well, it is cookies, cause it sets your prefered theme when you login
I could set this as the default theme, but I'd rather leave it this way,
that way qhimm can do testing on the default theme without me messing stuff up.

Trilinear - Is that a sniper in CS?

Does anyone use Netscape! lol... here's a copy of my website statistics!
MSIE v5.x 62.96%
MSIE v6.x 26.02%
Netscape v4.7 6.29%
AOL's Browser v6.x 1.74%
MSIE v4.x 1.26%
Netscape v4.0 0.58%
Cache/Proxy server 0.39%
Netscape v5.x 0.39%
Other Agents 0.39%
Just goes to show that internet explorer realy does dominate the internet browser market! Netscape should just give up.

Latest version of Mozilla (well, not just the latest either) is more compliant to the HTML standards than IE ... just most people either don't know about NS, or can't be bothered when IE comes with Windows.
Of course, those of us who have to use non-MS operating systems don't get the choice of using IE, so I'm glad there's at least one viable alternative
(NB: In one of the modules last year, we had to write a web page that displayed fine in *Lynx*. I mean, that is fairly extreme compatibility ... but our lecturer liked Lynx, so...)
-
Heh, actually that avatar of mine is a picture of some random SWAT officer in training.
-
I also use NS6.1, and yeah, I can't get the "Instant Smiles" to work either. In fact, nothing on the "Post" page works except the "Submit" and "Cancel Post" buttons!
And let's try not to get into a "browser" war here. I hate those.

i like 'saint's temp theme' it reminds me of my old board.
-
Is there a way to make the text a little bigger?
-
Not yet. But what you could do is (In Internet Explorer) go to View --> Text Size and choose Largest which will make the text bigger. Just wait 'till Qhimm complete the final design of the board. He said it was gonna be bigger then.
-
i like small text. but it is getting somewhat hard to read.
-
I dont find anything wrong with the small text.
-
either do i, its perfectly alright with me.
-
but then it may be because I have a 21 inch monitor at 1024x768 resolution
-
with medium text size.
-
I have a 14" moniter, 10 years old, 800x600, its a pile of sh*t. But I'm fine with the small text. I prefer it to the big text cos it looks neater.
-
I actually think the bigger text looks neater, but I guess it's all a matter of preference . . .
-
The bigger text does look better on my main monitor, but then that's only 15" so either is fine ... my secondary monitor is 17" (whoo! multimonitor!) so small text is pushing it a bit on that ^_^
(Yes, there IS a reason the bigger monitor isn't the primary one...)
-
just btw: what means 'sticky^' in name of this forum ? I have seen it also in name of next forum.
-
Means the topic always stays at the top of the list, regardless of whether it's actually the newest topic.
It's a pretty good way of posting announcements in a normal forum, since otherwise they'd tend to get lost among normal traffic...
-
hey fice, how do you do that in windows? or do they show the same thing?
-
Win98 onwards has multimonitor support built in ... all you need is 2 video cards installed, or a card with 2 outputs on it and voila, 2 monitors each with their own desktop.
-
cool, im gonna do that. when i get a gf2 ill keep my voodoo 3 in it.
-
oh baby......ati 8500.....20% better than GF3..........50 dollars cheaper..........AND it has multimonitor support.
