Title: FF8 problem
Post by: Zura on 2006-05-17 04:40:12: Hey can someone help me with this one. I recently installed FF8 on my pc and got all updates to it but when I start game I see only "eidos" screen and then it gets stuck. I canÂ´t even go back to windows because so I must restart my pc. If someone knows what to do pls help :-)

Post by: ketsui on 2006-05-18 05:31:24: I'm not sure if this is completely related, but I had the same problem on FF7. Then I say "to hell with this" and just installed every option (movie codec, DX5, yamaha midi) even though they looked old and might mess up my PC. Turns out, FF7 now works for me and my PC seems completely fine. Just a suggestion if you haven't tried it :wink:

Post by: Zura on 2006-05-21 10:12:08: Pfffffff now I got another problem :x Whenever I try use direct3d in FF8 I get some black squares in my screen. Does anyone know how fix this problem, I have searched much information about this problem but I still donÂ´t know how to fix it.

Post by: Radiosity on 2006-05-24 22:23:17: Search the forums here, there's a topic with fixes for that problem (I imagine you have a new Graphics card like a GF6600 or something, cuz it doesn't happen on older cards like the FX series). I just run the game in Software mode now, I can't be bothered with all the problems any more.
