I just reinstalled FF7 after watching advent children and I'm having trouble. In the initial menu the hand won't stop moving. It just keeps moving back and forth between continue and new game. I might be able to hit the right one, but I can't find the correct key. When I hold down the enter key the hand slows, but doesn't stop.
I'm using a usb keyboard and if I unplug it the hand stops move. Is there any way to correct this?

You have a stuck key.

If I had a stuck key it would affect other programs. FF7 is the only one I have problems with.

Your keymoard is USB? Is it a Wireless KB and Mouse setup?

Have you got any gamepads set up and not correctly callibrated?

nope, the keyboard is wired usb. I do have a usb joystick in, but I narrowed the culprit to the keyboard by unplugging things and plugging them back in until it started bouncing again.

I dunno, try a Different USB port, or even try a USB to PS/2 adapter

Whats the problem then? Just use the Joystick! Heres how you do it:
Enter the play game part, then you UNPLUG your keyboard. Then just use the joystick to play. It has defaults set so it should not be a problem. If I had a stuck key it would affect other programs. FF7 is the only one I have problems with.
Have you never had problems before? Sometimes I have problems randomly. Try shutting down your computer and starting it again. It may say you have a stuck key. If not sorry for the obvious answer :(

Its probably not a stuck key. I mean it COULD be, but that wasnt the case for me :-). Sadly i dont remember exactly what it was, but i remember it was some kind of add-on program, like "the hand patch" for example. Try unintall the game again and see what happends.

Check the device manager and make sure you don't have any Human Interface Devices enabled that you aren't using.
