Title: SFFS for ficedula'S FF7 Music
Post by: stormmedia on 2006-08-09 14:33:40
Hi ppl

Since my midi realtime project: "Stormmedia Final Fantasy Sound (SFFS)" seems to eat too much CPU ... and ram well I decided to make some mp3 from the mid files I modified and make the loops as good as I can so you can use it with ficedula's FF7 Music ... so no longer problem of performance  :-)

Well I'm doing the mp3 in my free times but since all the mid files are modified and I just have to make the mp3 it won't be too long ... I will post my progress as I do it

Well see you all

Ohh right I remember... well anyways my soundfont is now realy too complex ... even if you fixed it I think it gonna take a realy good computer to run it ... that why I decided to make wav from the midi.  They are rendered with my soundfont and I try to make the loops as good as I can.   Well I have 19 files done yet and I will publish the project once finish .... maybe in a week or so.

Well see you

First of all I'm doing my best you know... I have some other life to live like ... going to work... going somewhere else than in front of my computer... I'm doing these project in my free times and.. I don't have a lot of these right now... and my free time right now I spend it on my real time project since I managed to kill a lot of the CPU overload that my project had.. and I know how to kill some more.  Beside, with the mid files instead of the mp3 you get a better quality because the quality of the effect (like reverb, chorus, etc.) generated by the softsynth aren't eat by the loosy mp3 format.  When I gonna have more time I might trying to restart a version with mp3 but... I don't think I gonna use ficedula's ff7 music because it seems to have a lot of bugs... well I'll think of something...

So... Well try to remember that We are not payed for these patch or soundfont... we are doing this because I loved this game and because we want to improve it the more we can and ... well we want to share what we do with everyone ... but we have another life so... we are doing this in our free time... and I hope you'll understand that we don't always have as much free times as we would want to have.

That goes without question.
There are many many that do not even post here but we all appreciate your great work. All those patches and mods, it really makes a transcendental experience with this cult game.
So don't take it as we're pushing you but sometimes it's just like I can hardly wait till it comes out.
Take your time, do what you want most but think about how happy will your fans be when you release the thing.

good luck

P.S.: ok, no more off topic posts

Well miracle.flame I give you the confirmation that I will eventually make some mp3 with my mid files modified but it gonna take a lot of time and... I'll probably just make the song witch take the more of the CPU though... but if you got a good CPU I think you should think about tring my original SFFS project witch will comes out faster:
