Title: Battle.lgp modification
Post by: Doc on 2006-08-21 00:37:56
Can battle.lgp be modified in the same way that char.lgp can be?

I want to change Cid's field model to Rufus's. I've renamed all cq files rz, and all rz files cq, but when I start FF7 all that happens is that when I go into a battle, Cid is invisisble.

Can anyone help?

No... you might want to think a little about the problem. :)
Cid has a battle model right? Rufus does as well.  You might need to do the same thing with the battle models you did with the field models.  I can't tell you off hand what Rufus' battle model is (honestly).  I suggest you find that and do the appropriate renaming.
Are you able to get Rufus as a character for field use? IE all the events Cid is in work with the Rufus field model?

There might be other problems such as the internal naming of parts.  The PC version although easier to modify is also completely differently organized than the PS1.  I suppose I ought to finish the ISO FS on Gears and add some debugging output for file requests for the PS1 media.

I got Rufus's field model to work by renaming, but battle.lgp doesn't seem to work by renaming.

Has anyone ever done this before? How did you get it to work?
