Title: FF8 install problem (Error 106 - magic.fs)

Well the problem is that once i start to install final fantasy 8 on to my pc, it will always get a error about magic.fs not being able to transfer thus discontinuing the installation.

My pc should be able to run this  :? the specs are the following.

AM2 3800x2, nvidia 7300gs (256mbit), 2 gig ddr2 ram

I should install but im just having the worst luck atm  :-(. Could someone help me with the issue, thanks in advance for any help given.

See if you have any luck just copying the file off the CD.  Try using a different CD drive for the installation if you have one.  I'm afraid you might have a damaged disc.  :-\

Yeah i finally got the installation to finish, my cd was badly degraded (scratched to the max) so i had to pretty much make a new copy of the install cd. Once that finished it went past that 106 error WOOT!. Im glad to say ill be taking care of my priceless games better now, instead of just leaving em uncovered  :-D.

Is there maybe a patch to fix the graphics, everything looks so blocky, even tho i have a high end nvidia card :-(.
