I have searched for the last fourty five minutes to find a solution that would allow me to play FF7 in windowed mode. The closest thing I could find to that was Cetra, which is just an ugly box in the top left that messes up videos.
I am using the original version with the chocobo patch and the upside-down video patch on windows xp media center service pack 2. My proccessor is AMD Anthalon.

Try FF7w.

The link to the file itself is http://aaronserv.dyndns.org/!!stuff/qhimm/FF7w.zip
Hope this helps!
Edit-Might not help your video problem, you'll have to set down to 16-bit color to fix the movies.
But it'll be in the center of the screen in an actual window, not the top left.

Hmmm... I get an error when I attempt to run the patch.

I don't know if you did this already, but it needs to be in your FF7 folder.

Thanks for the tip, but it appears normally instead of in a window. I might try to reinstall it a bit later. There is a slight chance I might have minimum installed by mistake. After making the preceeding statement, I now feel like a complete noob.

Just keep in mind one thing Samusman. FF7 can't run right in a 32-bit color mode. That's why your videos look messed when you use the Certa patch. You will have the same problem when you run it trough FF7w. You should switch your desktop to 16-bit color in order for the game to work correctly.

Why is that?
