Title: Extracting the game sounds
Post by: Chrisu on 2006-10-15 15:47:18
HI!

I've got a question:
Is there a program to extract/view sound files from FF7? I think the could be stored in audio.dat.

If yes, please give me a link to the program!

thx, chris

There are many ways, it depends on what you plan on doing.
a PSF (playstation Sound Font) program is likely what you want.
This should extract the sound fonts for the SPU and also get the proper Midi sequences.

You should consider reading this thread else forum (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=6055.0)

I think thats not what im looking for...
Im looking for sounds like when you attack the opponent with the sword or when you make a lightning-magic or something else.

Maybe theres a way to extract those files from FF7?

You didn't look at the main site here, right?
Just try FF7SND (http://www.qhimm.com/ff7snd.zip) ... ^^
