Title: FFVII, 1.02 patch applied, nvida/tnt checked, reboot problem
Post by: bbyrd on 2006-11-23 18:44:22
Hello all,

New to the forums, so I don't know if this has already been covered, but I did a search and couldn't find anything, so...

I installed FFVII on winXP, applied the 1.02 patch, and the game works fine as far as I can tell. However...when I try to use D3D rendering, i check the Nvidia / TNT box, and when I restart FFVII, my PC reboots itself. I have proper cooling, and I'm using an ATI radeon 9800 on a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz w/ 1.0 Gb RAM. Any suggestions.

P.S.: I tried using the high-res patch as well, and I experience the same problem on NVidia / TNT checked. On just software rendering, it will crash back to the desktop, so I reinstalled w/o the high-res patch for now.

Thanks,

Turn off sound Volume in FF7 config. If enabled can crash your game.

I had similar problems, check if AA or AF are enabled, those could be the culprits.
