I read in the forums about a patch to play FF7 in 32 Bit color mode, but i can't seem to find it, does anyone know where to get this patch.

My website, ficedula.cjb.net

What sort of quality increase does the patch give you?
-
Depends. Colour shading is smoother, though it's only generally noticable on the larger polygons. Basically, a slight quality increase on a moderate amount of stuff; but, movies get messed up unless you're running it in a window.

...I'm curious...
I DLed a bunch of your progs, Ficedula, after seeing this thread and bouncing out of my seat at the prospect of playing the game at 32 bit...
But...Ilfana makes my computer choke, and the LGP thing...It *looks* like it would do something I'm DYING to get a program to do, which is view the summon polygons (and weapon polygons), but when I load a file that pops up a viewing window, it's empty.
Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Yeah, about the patch, has anyone tried it under WinXP? I have and I can't seem to get it to work :weep: ...I get this message:
Cannot create file c:square soft, incfinal fantasy viiff7.exe
After I click OK, it says "Matched! Applying...", but the app locks up and I need to end task it. Any ideas??? :???:

ficedula's patch works for me, both for the 32 bit patch and window mode
...but the window mode...u really can't Alt-tab... :(

Does anyone else find that the music patch crashes FF7 with an unhandled exeption?

Is this possible with FF8 also ?
Or any other way I could force it to run in 32 bit ?
Because it looks partly really ugly on my Radeon 8500 in 16 Bit
(no 8Bit palletized Texture support).

There is currently no way to get FF8 to run in 32-bit.
Btw, some people find it kind of annoying when a post brings a topic back to the top that hasn't had any new input for a year. Just a note... try to avoid doing this.

I thought it would be kinda annoying to open a thread about this probably frequently asked question.
thx anyway
