Find a list of FF7 patches for tweaking the game on the Wiki here: Wiki Page (http://wiki.qhimm.com/FF7/Technical/Customising)
As the Wiki isn't open for general business, if you feel you have a (popular/stable) patch, editor, or app that deserves a mention, post it here and I'll update the Wiki page as soon as possible. :-)

I just wanted to say that Highwind is at version 1.20 and not 1.04 ;)
-
Hi Christian: if you make a webpage to point to the latest version, it saves the Wiki from pointing to the binary (or rather, .rar) and thus saves us from updating the link every time you release a new version. If you could do that and PM me the link I'll point the Highwind entry to that instead. :-)
-
Yes the link IS correct, but the page says version: 1.04 instead of 1.20, but the link links to the v1.20.
-
I meant if you create a webpage which in turn links to the latest version, we won't have to keep updating the Wiki every time you bring out a new version (since it currently links directly to the .rar file). Anyway, I updated the Wiki page to say/point to 1.20.
-
Thanks for updating, but you neednt have changed the link because the "Highwind.rar" is allways the latest release, so you can download it without changing the link. I just wanted to point out that the page was saying its in v1.04 in the version column.
Sorry if i didnt express myself correctly.
Would you mind changing the link back to the "Highwind.rar" archive?
Sorry for the troubles anyways, Chris

Hey
I got to say some-thing here
Name Description Author
FF7 v1.02 Official Patch Updates the game to version 1.02. Square / Eidos
This is bugging me, if I'm wrong sorry but did some-one from the Qhimm forum make the v1.02 patch not Square / Eidos
Edit
or was that just the Chocobo Patch
-
That was the Chocobo patch (Qhimm / Jedwin, as it says).
-
humm, so they did fix some after all
thank you, for cleaning that up for me
-
Wow, is my page the only place to get the 1.02 patch?
That's bizarre, sad, and funny all at once ^_^
You should make a note about "The XP patch" (and why it sucks =P) just so someone who comes across the page doesn't think you're missing such a "vital game update" =P
-
Wow, is my page the only place to get the 1.02 patch?
I have it on the FFSF page (which is acting very slow at the moment due to new ISP troubles, grr...).
-
I've got a new Link to download Highwind, in future there will be a homepage thats available with this link, now it just redirects to the download.
But please change it anyways.
It's this link: http://christian59.ch.funpic.de/html/highwind.htm
EDIT: The new shorter subdomain for the page is http://www.christian.cn.ms/
-
Not sure if my "New Spell" patch necessarily qualifies for the wiki, but I'll post it anyway:
http://files.filefront.com/New+Spell+Patchrar/;8222718;;/fileinfo.html
BTW - this is the final version. I've had an initial version and a couple updated versions. Well, this one's final. To my knowledge, there's not a single problem with this version (previous versions had a lot of the description text in-battle running off into nothingness).
Also, I didn't see SceneReader on the wiki? A quick glance through all of the patches told me that it's not on there. It's good for decompressing and recreating scene files. I don't have an original link, all I have is a download to the literal executable to run the program (you need to save it, not open it, when you download it - if you want it as an archive, I can do that, too):
http://files.filefront.com/SceneReaderexe/;7822155;;/fileinfo.html
It might be a good idea to include dziugo's Highway and Snowboarding Mini-Game fix, because I'm sure most people have frame issues with those two mini-games. That patch also includes a fix for the battle swirl and allows you to modify the framerate of the battle swirl. I know that I've seen some people complain about difficulties concering the battle swirl:
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=5124.0 (link to the topic)
EDIT:
Updated a link.

IMPORTANT:
For the "High Rez Cloud", you have the author as "Unknown"; It was made by Dreakon13, at least, according to the readme that comes with the mod.
[edit] Ok, it's fixed =)
Also, how about putting up a link for ff7w? You know, to play the game in windowed mode?
http://www.ff7-universe.com/Downloads/FF7w.zip by Bulk_4me
Or is it too buggy to wanna put in the wiki?

It's cool someone noticed that.
I was going to mention something, but the version the Wiki links to was a .ffpatch, while mine was an executable to patch the files. Seeing as I never made it into a .ffpatch, either someone made their own version of the same mod or they made it from my exe file. If that's even possible...
I don't know which but should my name stay on there, could you just make it Dreakon? Thanks! :P
-
So, I got this cloud.ff7patch thing from the wiki.
How do I open it?
-
You don't.
You run it through LGPtool's Apply Patch option.
-
excuse me bt is there a patch to always run? coz im sick of holding [cancel] to run :x if there is someone put the download hacks as a reply. would greatly appreaciate it
frm Dragonhead
P.S how in the nine hells do you activate the luckytifa patch?
-
Isn't there an always run option int he normal game menu?
-
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7022 (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7022). Just do a little searching.
As for the LuckyTifa patch, all you have to do is get her limit break and it will all be "Yeah".
-
okie bt the patch I meant how to put it in I mean I got the darn thing bt stil has "miss" and "hit" I need all "yeah" so how do u extract it or activate it or someth? someone make a read me for the lucky tifa patch I mean I dowloaded it bt the readme was crap no instructions no sh*t I got lgp tools bt how to activate? in other words how do u activate a SRB file?
Spam part:
hey who has ff7 advent children the movie?
-
anyone gonna answer me?
-
And where did you find a link for that patch?
-
The link I posted has your answers. Please type sentences with correct spelling and punctuation; it is quite difficult to understand you.
-
in other words I need to know how to use an SRB file then I'm fine
-
Again, where did you download it from?
-
from ff7-universe.com
and from wiki post
-
There is an instruction on how to use it on the ff7-universe.
-
okay Now I need help with the NPC reconstruction project after I use I can't enter small bases like chocobo stable, Kalm or see the snake on a tree
-
When playing the game, it randomly freezes... Anyone has any idea why? I remember playing on the same computer the game before without any hitch. I'm only using patch 1.02 and chocobo patch, nothing else (for now).
(I think I could play with the H-Res patch too, but I got enough problems making it work with only those two =/ )
The freezes happen at anytime. First it was when I first meet Aeris after blowing a reactor, after that it was at the bar. What really bother me is that it's not a area in specific, it's just random.
Window XP 32 bits. Latest Nvidia driver (I can try olders, I'm just not sure if that will be a good solution since I play other games too, who won't benefit from something like that...)
(I'm wondering if it's because of a patch that it happens, if it's not should I post it in support instead? I tried reading other threads who talk about freezes in FFVII, but the problems don't feel similar to mine, I'll still try very old drivers see if anything happen)
Edit : Well, hours later (or the next day) I think I managed to find something that was conflicting with the game. (not sure... But I think so) and using few months old drivers must be helping. (163.75)
Seems to be working not too bad with only necessary patches installed.
Can't get His-res to work tho (it does patch the exe, the patcher say it recognize the size/crc and that it patches it. But when I start the game, even tho it works without glitch in 1.02, it doesn't even start with Hi-res. It starts the game and close it right after without error message). Doesn't matter too much tho, as long as I get to make the work game normally I can be happy.
Guess my post ended up useless (and possibly in the wrong section of the forum... Sorry x_x).
-
Synergy Blades,
might you be interested in adding my Scene Redux mod to the Wiki?
Version 1.3 proved to be stable enough to call it final.
-
I can't seem to find the file for tieoh. Also do I need to decompile the kernel first cause I was trying to use that ff7dec program and kept saying the kernel2.bin wasn't the right gzip format.
-
http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=6385.0
Teioh, not Tieoh.
ff7dec only decompiles kernel.bin, not kernel2.bin. Kernel2.bin doesn't need to be decompiled.

Hey guys, just a head's up:
My site (ff7-universe) is down indefinitely.. my host is being unreliable. If anyone has wiki access, please remove/replace any and all links leading to ff7-u.
This has probably been going on for a while, but i was just made aware of it recently. =(
-
I didn't know that was your site! I love that place!!!
Will it be back up at any point?
-
Seems to work just fine here. :?
-
Was never down with the whole "login" thing. Should've been taken off of the wiki when that was implemented.
-
Seems to work just fine here. :?
I just tried it and there's nothing but the host's "placeholder blah blah blah". Unfortunate :(
-
..well, shizznit.
Now it's working FINE.
It's down for over a week, i go through all the channels to get it back, that fails, so I declare it's down... and it comes back.
Goddammit, i hate my host =P
-
I just bought the pc version (a whopping 50 $ at games exchange) and i got some questions/concerns.
I'd like to have the
-high res patch,
-npcs remodeled patch,
-make it so my party characters are the battle versions on the field and wherever,
-id like to get better sound if possible... the midis or whatever sound like crap, any way to make it sound like the playstation version?
- that patch that fixes those stupid block hands
thats all i can think of, i have looked around ff7 universe and the wiki of patches and this site but i might be forgetting a few.
Any other patches or mods or whatever anyone wanna recommend me?
also does anyone know if all the patches i just mentioned will work together? and im using windows vista and have my resolution set to 1280x960 if that matters.
I don't expect you guys to do all the work looking around for patches or finding all my info for me, if you guys cant/wont help me ill just go look around the internet in general and this site and ff7 universe a bit more (altho ive already spent hours the past week or so looking around)
EDIT: I got saints high resolution patch AND the phoenix rejuvenation patch working together as well as hays reasonable mod too! Only thing left to do is install the 9999 limit breaking patch then maybe get an editor so i can lower all my stats to make the game NOT mind numbingly easy.
If anyone has any other suggestions for patches/mod let me know.
-
If you have want the NPC Reconstruction patch, why do you want the block hands patch?
--------------EDIT------------------------
Also, use the search function in the top left on the screen, it works wonders!
-

I've released an app. Until it does something more epic, it's just called the
Final Fantasy VII Script Code Assembler v1.1
I'd appreciate it if this would be added to the wiki page. Thanks!
-
I'm probably going to revamp that page soon. That needs to have the new graphics driver added as well. The chocobo patch and the resolution patch have been deprecated by that.

Halkun, if someone gives me access I could edit the wiki easily, I already have some up-to-date info to fill up the blanks. I can give you some links too if you don't have time to read the last 50 pages and want to edit it yourself.
Send me an MP if you'd like your thread linked here.
-
Somebody really needs to update the wiki. It's so out of date it's not even funny. Is Qhimm the only one with access to it?

I dunno. I'm up for the task, if he'll give me access. Since I don't have much in the way of technical skills, I can't create any useful mods or tools, but I do know how to write. :)

I believe that Halkun can give you access to the wiki, so you should ask him.
-
PM's sent. Hopefully we'll be looking at a perfectly up-to-date wiki pretty soon. It'd be nice to be able to answer every "Hai guyz can I haz all teh modz and editorz for teh ff7z nao plz??? thx." with a link to the wiki.
EDIT: Wiki updated! :) So feel free to start redirecting newbies there. If anyone wants something posted to the wiki feel free to ask and I can oblige if it's appropriate or relevant.
