Title: Trouble installing Chocobo races patch...
Post by: arthen on 2007-08-31 18:42:29
Hey everybody.  First let me say it's great to find a place where there are so many answers and people to answer questions.  I'm not the most tech-savy individual in the world, so I greatly appreciate any help you can offer.

I downloaded the Chocobo race patch from the main FF7 page on the site, and when I run the installer it has brought up a couple of different screens.  Things like can't find the executable file, even though the program in the window is correctly titled or "unable to identify your game executable.  Do you wish to attempt adaptive patching?"  I try it and the following pops up:  "Could not locate XP vulnerability.  This does not appear to be an unpatched FF7 executable."

Now, I had installed another patch claiming to fix all the XP related issues, but when I kept getting to the Chocobo races, Ester would finish talking, the music started and then it crashed.  Do I need to uninstall that patch or try something else?  Anyways, any help would be nice.  Thanks for your time.

First point in the FAQ.

First point: You shouldn't install the AnimeVamp "FF7 XP Patch" / "1.04 Patch" - here's why (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=1656.0).  The newest patch you should be using is the 1.02 patch from Eidos.

Sorry.  I read over that thing, and must not have put together AnimeVamp.  Thanks for the patience and the heads up.
