I am unsure where to look, but are there any alternate language patches for any of the PC FF games? (In particular, German or Japanese?)
-
for ff7, you could simply use another flevel of another language, such as the german one or the french flevel. (actually tested those 2 before, so i know they work)
-
flevel? What do you mean?
I'm sorry, I'm new to hacking games.

in ff7pc, all the game's main text is stored inside the 'flevel.lgp' which is in this directory (default)
"C:\Program Files\Square Soft, Inc\Final Fantasy VII\data\field\flevel.lgp"
i do not know where or what the text is in for ff8pc, (as i do not own it) but it is probably in some similar sort of place, and is quite possible that you are able to simply change it for another language.

If you're interested, there's an unofficial italian patch that you can find here (http://www.sadnescity.it/traduzioni/ff7/ff7.php).
