Title: Now this is a Cheatsave!
Post by: mr-pwnage on 2007-11-19 18:13:41
I was snooping around on these forums when I came across an address which holds the Save Game address.
So I loaded it into TSearch, set the Value of it to 0.
Et Voila! It worked. So, I can save the game anywhere now.
So...--Brainwave!--

I used an enemy editor I found on these forums too!
Chanegd the enemy data for the MPs found in the train station at the very start.
The give a rediculous amount of exp now.
So, I killed them, shot up to level 99. And Materia was created, all of it went master straight away.
I then saved the game and uploaded the save for you all to enjoy these high levels too!

Get through the game real fast to test a patch.

Yeah, if it's not for you, don't use it.

"God mode" can be fun at first, but can get boring fast. Though the save anywhere part is intriguing. Is it possible to have just that as a standalone?

save anything is very interesting.
would you be able to make it stand alone?

Save anywhere could screw things up if the memory bank which holds temporary variables isn't saved (and it isn't saved by default).

@dziugo: Can you list examples of some points in the story line where you'd anticipate that to be the case? Could always make it a "use at your own risk" release. I'd probably use it, if only in Midgar. I always disliked too that there was no save point in the Cave of Gi.

Nope, no examples :) FF7 saves only saves the plot progression, while using a temporary memory bank for remembering what has been done in current scene. That could lead to a problem where (hipotetically) you unlocked the door, walked in and saved - when loading, the door could still be unlocked, which would mean that you're trapped inside.
