What you need: FF7 PSX image, a PSP
How to get it working:
Alright, I'm just kidding, and I know this is a day late from April Fools :P... sorry if I got any hopes up.
Actually this is my first GIMP "photoshop" so since it was FF related I figured I'd post it here.
-
All good for a late April Fools n all tht, but I do believe there's another post around here somewhere, and someone says you CAN play FFVII on PSP, personally I don't own a PSP, but it'd kick ass to br playing it on long train journeys to my girlfriends house :-P
Then when she nags, I could play it then also....think I might invest in a PSP....
-
What's so amazing about FF7 on the PSP? I've had it on my PSP for aaaaages.
-
Get it working on a DS, now that's magixx..!

Since you've had it for aaaaaaages, you'll fail to see teh magic in playing such a classic on the move :-P
Kidding. I think the reason it would be so cool is, and I'm sure you can testify to this, is that on a smaller, handheld screen I'm sure the images would be alot sharper, yea?
Meaning, even although it's a smaller screen, it still looks better. And also, since you have it on PSP, can you use NPC re-construction and such?
That would push me to buy one, because I think it would just be awesome to have it on PSP (I'm easily amused)
-
Aye - it looks real good on the smaller screen. I also like what they've done to FF1 for the PSP.
As for the NPC re-construction, I dunno - I haven't really read these forums for a long time now... has the NPC re-construction project started covering the Playstation version of the game? Assuming the playstation version has a similar char.lgp file I'm sure it's not too difficult to modify it and get it into the PSP eboot.
-
You'll see from one of my other posts that I was trying my best to get FF7 PC working on the PSP, mainly for the NPC RP. Unfortunately it just isn't possible yet.
And yeah, it is possible to have FF7 PSX on the PSP. If you had a doctored pic of the PC version on the PSP, you would've had me spamming your email begging for directions
-
I'm playing FF7 on my PSP and it is really nice cause even the 1997 gfx looks nice on the crysp screen! :)
U should try! :)
-
Right that's it, today,Re-construction or no, I'm off to buy a PSP :-P
Just have to dig out that copy for the PSX eh, haha.
Too damm busy with all thse exciting mods for the PC version, I forgot all about my poor PSX original :-P
-
Heh - If you've got the PAL version of FFVII you might want to think about "acquiring" the NTSC eboot images from elsewhere as you have to muck around with vertical/horizontal positioning and it's all a bit of a hassle really.
-
Jeah, i would prefer a NTSC copy, too becaus PAL needs some hacks and patches to run... nasty.
-
Actually I think most eboot creation programs have an option to change your PAL iso to NTSC.
Also when you do get it on your PSP make sure you run popsloader on 3.71 (maybe 3.72), running on 3.90 doesn't work and I've heard 3.80 also won't work.
-
Oh yeah - that sucks. I've not played FFVII since I upgraded to 3.90 M33-2. Just tried it now and whenever I enter combat it crashes.
Edit - Nevermind, load the game with the R held down and use popsloader to force 3.71... works a treat :) thanks.
