Title: Solution to clipping problem during FMV mixed with 3D
Post by: Salk on 2008-04-17 07:57:10
Hello!

I have had this annoying problem after installing newer Codecs packs.

In the FMV sequences where Cloud&C 3D animation would interact with the FMV played by ex. running on it (first FMV at sector 1) and instead would just not move at all and be clipped all through the FMV.

It is caused by the "AVI splitter" which needs to be DISABLED while it is automatically enabled by practically all Codecs packs I have tried.

Well, when installing the K-Lite codec pack (the one I use) you can choose not to install the AVI splitter and use the default Windows one, which will work fine with FF7. Give it a try.

Terid_K,

yes, it's certainly a good idea but what I wanted to point out was that the codecs packs install it by default their own version and 80% of the users just choose a default profile.

You can apparently use the Codec Tweak Tool that comes with it to disable the AVI splitter if you have already installed it. If you have K-Lite, give it a try.
