Title: FFVII Music MP3
Post by: Stick on 2008-05-08 02:59:02
I wanted to add Final Fantasy VII - Voices of the Lifestream mp3 to the game using ficedula. So far I've succeeded in changing the bombing mission mid into " Big Giant Circles - Every Story Begins with a Name (Opening - Bombing Mission) " I had to remove ob.mid from all midi directory .LGP's so there wouldn't be background midis.

Only problem is that when battle ends or you go into another scene, the track starts playing from the beginning which is kinda frustrating.

Has anyone else tried to put your own mp3 to the game and had it without making it start the track again?

Isn't there an option that lets you say don't start from the start of the track?
I haven't used FFVII Music in a while so I don't really remember.

It really seems to have such an option where you can pick how you want it to resume. Thanks alot! I was maybe too tired for not noticing it earlier. This helps alot!

You can also just mute the sound in your FF7 configuration (the one in-game) so that only MP3s play. This configuration carries on for any new games you might start as well, so you've only gotta do it once. FF7Music works outside of the system, so to speak, so muting the midi in-game isn't going to effect it at all.

Games in the real ffvii don't resume dongs where they left out, so I find it pointless to try. For example, the over world theme is only meant to be heard in full when doing stuff in the menus (organizing materia and whatnot). Otherwise, you only hear the same 30 second over and over when you get into random encounters (because the overworld theme restarts).
Haven't found it a big deal. PSF files also have a delay when resuming files, which grows the longer the song has been playing.
