I was reading the tuturioal from Scorpicus' website and wanna know how to edit the text of Cloud's swords in this one sephiroth patch I have to give them Katana names. Like changing Hardedge to something like Ashura or something like that. Can anyone help me please.

Can you not use the Teioh program to do that? The Kernel2 editor?
-
Download tieoh.

I can't seem to find the file for tieoh. Also do I need to decompile the kernel first cause I was trying to use that ff7dec program and kept saying the kernel2.bin wasn't the right gzip format.

Teioh, not Tieoh.
ff7dec only decompiles kernel.bin, not kernel2.bin. Kernel2.bin doesn't need to be decompiled.

ok thanks and I just open the kernel2.bin file thats installed with my Sephiroth patch to edit the weapon names of Cloud's Swords into Katanas correct? Maybe when I'm done I'll give Scorpious the kernel2.bin file. Mostly just doing this for myself don't like have Cloud's weapon names if Sephiroth is suppose to be a Samurai. This is what I'm going for just not sure what order to do them in
How do I modify Weapon slots? and growth?

Teioh edits kernel2.bin, which contains text data. The fact that Teioh is a text editing program should make it obvious that you cannot edit anything other than text.
What you want to do is edit weapon stats and properties, which is stored in kernel.bin, which you need to edit with a hex editor. And no, it's not easy.
This can all be found out by searching this forum. Do so for any other questions because the answers are easy to attain.

ok thanks. Modifying Text is easy but not weapon stats. I use ff7dec for that correct to decompile it and then? I plan on posting the kernel files for Scorpious' Patch just waiting till I get home monday night. The kernel2.bin will be done by then for sure though.

And then you use a hex editor. There is no program that lets you easily change weapon stats and such. You need to learn how kernel.bin is formatted and what variables must be edited. Qhimm's wiki page should have info on it. Go there (google to find the wiki, I don't know the address).

yeah I visited that wiki site it'll be helpful. Should be somewhat the same as doing FFT Hexadecmial stuff once i know the variables. Should this Hex Editor be good enough? Freeware Hex Editor XVI32?
