Title: Check this out, I'm not sure if this is true
Post by: guitar_dudester91 on 2008-06-23 14:52:21
Okay okay okay..... I know that this has been going on for numurous years, and this is for now strictly rumour until it is proven in screenshots and such.

I was reading a thread posted here about being able to play as Zach even though he is dead, and I didn't believe it, because, ummm.... what was the reason? O YEAH, HE"S DEAD!! Point is that people replying to the post often mentioned the Masume ( is that spelled right? lol ) weapon that is won, and the inability to use it. That got me thinking. I was over at FF7ctiadel.com (great site), and a user reported that if you collect all 12 1/35 soldiers scattered about Junon ( or the world, I'm not sure, I only found 2, lol), and you go to Nibelheim, there is a 50% chance that a shinra guard will be walking around with a buyable key to the basement. I guess you speak to him and buy the key, then go to the basement. Sephy will pop out ( the one that died 5 years ago ) and congratulate you on collecting them, an will offer to join your party. So if this is true, then it would probably be possible to equip the sword you win on him.

Like I said, this is only a rumour, because the citadel never claimed it to be true, because there was no factual evidence. I might have this a little different than reported, so if you are interested go to the citadel and look under rumours, it will be there.

I know this is a rumour, and I'm not proving it ( yet hopefully lol ), but I thought maybe It could be one of those things square put into the game and never completed, or a really hard and complicated character to find. I also noticed when buying armor, you see the 8 or 9 charcters on the bottom, and there is 3 more open slots on the far right side. Probably just coincidence, I know, but still interesting, so I thought I'd just share it with you guys. I've only been a fan for a couple of years, seeing as I was only 6 when the game came out, so if you've already heard about this rumour , tell me that I'm full of bs, and we'll call it good, lol. that way I stop wasting time trying to get it to work.

Thanks!

I can tell you this game has been completely dissected by a number of people, and there is no way (already in-game) to do anything like that.

You also cannot revive Aerith, and Cheese Weapon is a hoax.

I thought everyone got ever these ridiculous rumours after the great Ben Lansing debaucle years ago? Almost everything thats known about this game is here in this board.

The 1/35 soldiers do not do anything.

Why can't people just accept Sephy will NOT join your party.  He's the games main antagonist, what purpose would be served in having the character your hunting, join your party?

Welcome to the INTERWEBS!  Be sure to leave your feelings and self esteem at the door.

If I was beng a prick, I would have insulted you directly, which I now have an urge to do.
I was saying people as a WHOLE << Key word, who want Seph in there party as a secret, and not a hack, are just being stupid.

EDIT: And, to you, stop being a prick and taking things out of context. ;-)

Either way, there's nothing wrong with sarcasm, y'know?
He shold stop taking things so personally, especially throught the internet. :-P

Whether it was towards me, or you, auxili, he should lighten up. :-D

KEY WORD>>> i HAVE ONLY BEEN A FAN FOR A FEW YEARS!! I know that people have had these rumours for a few years, I was just posting to see if any of you have heard of this specific one. As for sephy, I don't think I would want him in my party, cuz isn't he the bad guy?

Obesebear, where is the register desk for the feelings and self esteem? I'm new here, so the sooner I can register the better, right?
( See, i am a fan of sarcasm too!)

I was just saying in my previous post, there is no reason to talk around my post to everyone else, you can say to my face that i should just except the fact he won't. (even though I was clearly not pushing the issue and just passing on this "ridiculous" rumour)

So, to conclude, sorry for my post, I wasn't trying to be a little b*tch, but I did, so sorry about that, And, i guess you were just upset that ppl keep bringing this up.
The game is over, done, the story and the movie show that any of this doesn't happen, so ppl should stop bringing it up, lol.
So sorry for coming off the wrong way.

That doesn't even make sense. Sephiroth's body is in the Promised Land, not on the Shinra Mansion basement.

:-D I heard that rumor on the website www.funcoland.com, which is down now unfortunately (I say unfortunately because it was a great site to get games, among other things).  I was relatively new to video games and the internet, so I believed it... I don't know how many hours I wasted trying to find more than just the two 1/35 Soldiers you find in Junon... plus the hours trying to get better and better to beat that roller coaster game to get the Masamune...

Thankfully, I learned that the only way to get Sephiroth to be in your party is to have the edited Char.lgp that replaces Clouds polygon with Sephiroth's polygon, or use GameShark on the PSX version  :-P

And thankfully again, I learned that if you hear a tip or cheat, do some research first before wasting your life for hours on end just to find out it wasn't true. :-)

Well thanks for clearing that up. i too have wasted numorous hours trying to fnd the soldiers, so thats why i thought maybe Square wanted to do it, but just pulled it out, or never finished it. I think it would ruin the story though, so no big deal. :-D
