what is the point of Anonymous users?   if poeple want to post on here thay should have a name to go with the message. and it's annoying when i have to switch cpus at school and keep entering my user and password. it should just repromt you or something liek that. oh well just something to think about i guess.
-
Even if we removed the anonymous users, you would still have to type that info in on every computer you use at school.
The most likely reason we have anonymous users is it will allow people to leave messages without actually commiting to these forums. It also saves server HD space...

i can go with that. but maybe qhimm can make it so that if you ahvea valid username it prompts you to retype the password or post a anonymous message.....
-
how does the server know that youre you if youre on another computer?
hehe, dont forget i was 'anonymous' for the better part of 6 months.
-
I was anonymous to for almost a year. I have been visiting this forum from a long time, but I didn't post a lot and eventually I forgot my password. I couldn't log in, and I couldn't get another account because my e-mail was already used. Anyways, I think letting people to do anonymous posts are helpful.

it prompts you to type your name and password, if thats what you mean.....

i think i'll leave this alone....

Registered users can also post an opinion anonymously if they think they might get flamed for posting it (Joey take heed) ;)
-
heh heh i dont think ive ever posted anonymously (after i registered, that is)
-
thats what i have the problem with. if your registered you shouln't post anonymously. if you have an opinion i think you should say it. people shouldn't flame in return. getting mad is ok but people do have opinions.
-
so basically what youre sayig is that there shouldnt be an anonymous option? Its been said earlier: Some people want to post and not devote themselves to the forum.
-

-
yeah... we have about 300 registered users: about 30 of which are active.
-
:z oh fine i guess in this sense there is no way to win this. maybe there should be a flaming forum.....proabaly a bad idea but it's better than haveing people fighting in the regular forums :erm:
-
incourage flaming? naaaah. im against it. besides, we already have a scapegoat =)
-
I was just saying if someone didnt want to get flamed for stating an opinion then posting anonymously is better. I, however, have never posted anonymously - This is because I always keep my flame retardent suit firmly buckled and reserve the right to speak utter crap.
-
i think yo have that right thanks to the 1st amendment
-
i think the first amendemnt doesnt apply to most people on this board. but you do have the right idea. nonetheless, people can hate you for speaking utter crap.
-
well it's proabaly just a matter of time. don't you watch tv? and just about all people speak any more is crap. again: don't you watch tv?
-
actually, no. i try to watch as little tv as possible.

I don't think that free speech applies in the US anymore.
The constitution is dead in the US. I don't believe that we have the rights that we used to have. For example, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty here in the US. But now they lock you up for days until the day that you are judged comes, just in case you are guilty. In other words, you loose your freedom just because you are a suspect on something. And they take a long time to give the veredict, and after they find you innocent, they just say sorry and let you go. It pisses me off, that happened to a friend of mine, and it could happen to anyone.
There is no Democracy anymore.

Edit: Sorry, I got out of the subject a little bit.

jari: i know that :) the first amendment is just a bad example. (I dont kow how much education people outside the US get on the Constitution)
also, a lot of admins say that "this is not a democracy"
vvalentine: I agree. The 5th and 6th amendments are dying somewhat.

damn democrats.
jeri:yea i keep forgetting that most of this board is in the uk.
darkness & vvalentine: the 5 and 6 should be PLD. and most admins are power-overwhelmed jerks because they deal with loads of poeple. thats why i like this board. not a lot of people and the admins actualy post to talk not to kill post *cough*gamefaqs*cough* where they just disabel your user if they don't like you. have you seen they terms-of-service?
-
that was me
-
AGGGHHH.... browser didn't save my login. ok THOES LAST 2 WERE ME.
-
PS: Hate to admit it, but the Republicans are as guilty of manipulating the constitution for their own purposes as the Democrats are. It's really a wonderful document, and a shame that it's been "interpreted" as it has. Something else-In many cases, it's ignored when dealing with other countries-and that seems a bit hypocritical to me. Or, it's imposed in our dealings with soverign nations, weaker nations with little wealth or clout. it's a wonder that there's not more resentment harbored against us as it is.
The admins here are very understanding, and very tolerant-to a point. I *wouldn't* want to make them mad.
-
yea but the admins at gamefaqs just kill you account if you have "innapropriate content" in your posts. like "crap" for instance. and you can't x is gay. cause that could infringe on people's right to feel good about them selves. and the other reason i like this forum is there no posting restriction.
good bless qhimm and all of his greatness.

I'm against politics. Very little use besides stalling what needs to be done. (I'm talking modern-day politics...)
Besides... when was the last time you ever saw a totally honest Politican? (Totally honest in a professional way.)

honest? politican? what witchcraft do you speak of?
-
I speak of the mythical land from which the origins of Politics were created, where the Politicans serve the public, with no thought of putting themselves before the needs of the people.

Ah, if I could only rule the world. I would bring order, and peace to this chaotic world. No politics, no stupid prohibitions, and no boundaries. There would be power to the people. This world could be so much better with me being the one and only ruler.
Ah, yes, me the almighty ruler of the world.
And when I die, the whole world would follow me the same way.
J/K :D.

vValentine: you dont know how hard would it be ... one can't rule them all, that would be too much on your head, you would have no breaks as you would be solving one problem after another.
And 'power to tha people' == anarchy, chaos and violence
There are lots of bad people in the world that have to be held by laws and prohibitions.
-
like poloticians, and people who join reform parties....
-
Dude, don't pay attention to that post. I was drunk like a skunk.
-vvalentine
-
never heard that saying before..... i'll have to rememebr that. hehe skunk.
-
Its actually ' Drunk as a Skunk' but I'll let you off this time.
-
Have you ever seen "The West Wing" or "The American President"? If anyone ruled the world alone, their life would be like that x 1000.
