Title: Place to listen to FF midis under different synths/soundfonts?
Post by: jamin686 on 2008-08-10 03:48:54
I've unfortunately never had a PC with a dedicated SoundCard, so I've always been intrigued by being able to listen to midis using different synths or soundfonts or what have you.  I stumbled upon one link where they had the FF7 Chocobo fiddle midi and an Ultima midi, played through different soundfonts (they had mp3 samples), and I thought it was really cool.

Is there any site that has music from FF7 or 8 under different soundfonts (in mp3 form), notably the battle themes?  I always really wanted to hear the ones that sound like SNES games (I think they have those?), so that would be amazing to hear as well.  Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure if I'm answering this correctly (it's late, I'm tired, so forgive me if this is irrelevant).

But you could always try FF7 Music, and use any mp3's you want?

You could use some software that can use soundfonts to play MIDIs.
