I'm not sure if this is in the wrong place or not, but this is abotu tweakin my FF7 games so...
I want to use something to switch Cloud out for Zack... I've narrowed it down to 2 possible options, and I'm not sure which is better:
Either :http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=7256.0
That's Scorpicus's or should I use:
http://the-absolute-zack-project.tk/
They both look really good, but I'm just not sure which to use...
-
You should go with Scorpicus' I think. He seems to have made Zack for more situations, where as the other link doesn't mention anything about World map, or Chocobo races (it might, I only had a quick look).
The only thing is, I personally prefer the original battle model Zack, to Scorpicus' CC rendition. But that's just personal preferance. :-)
-
You're having the EXACT same issue I'm having...
-
In that case, my apologies at being absoloutly no help.
-
If Scorpicus would release a version with Zack's old hair, I'd use that in a freakin heartbeat...
-
I was just wondering.
Does Cloud also replace Zack in any of these?
I would use the one that swaps them. Not just turn you into Zack.
Maybe you could use a mix of the two?
-
bump, I still haven't used either and I can't decide!@!!
-
The Zack mod from Scorpicus completely swaps Cloud and Zack. Also it adds a few little things (Try getting the Aeris date in Gold Saucer to see what I mean =P)
-
I implemented the Scorpicus mod, btu I'm already after teh Gold Saucer date... now I just need a mod that will let me change character names... ZACK'S NAME IS NOT CLOUD!!!
... I supppose I'm not TOO far into the game... I'm abotu to enter teh Forbidden City, which is the end of disc 1...

Jenova.
-
I dled Jenova, but when I direct it to the save directory and hit load, nothing happens, at all
-
Is your list of saves coming up in Jenova? When you direct it to you save folder, you should get the list of all your save games. Then select the one you want to edit, and away you go. There isn't really any problems with it as far as I'm aware, and it's simple enough to use...
-
no, my saves don't come up at all...
-
I finally got it to come up and I have changed teh name, thanks!
-
Out of curiosity, what went wrong? Do you know?
-
I didn't click on save slot one on the window...
However, now I have another issue... my game crashes at the snowboard game...
-
Download and install YAMP + MiniGamesPatch (http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?topic=5124.0).
-
hmmm, won't work for me, in fact, I'm now having to re-install the game...
-
The only thing that YAMP modifies, is the ff7.exe file. And it makes a backup just before modifying it.
-
the installer doesn't recognize skerb, and the backup_ff7 doesn't work at all.
patcher says "something went wrong, dunno what"
-
I wonder why it happens every now and then. Rename the "skerb.ex_" file to "skerb.exe", then open install.bat with notepad and change this line:
set patcher_file=skerb.ex_
so it looks like this:set patcher_file=skerb.exe
This should do the trick.
And for the backup to work, you have to rename it to "ff7.exe".
-
I'm still having the exact same issue, and I did exactly as you said...
-
Are all the files on your CD readable (ie. can you copy them all to the HDD without getting an IO error)?
-
I have no clue, and not sure how to find out without actually trying to copy them...
-
Well... What about actually copying them? Why can't you do it?
-
What I'm saying is I can't find out without actually trying to copy them...
-
So, you can't find out if the files are readable by copying, without copying. Sure, that makes sense, but what about acutally trying to do it?
-
Do you have any other solutions besides that? I might be jumping to conclusions, but I don't want to run the game from directly off my PC, I'd like to run it from the discs...
-
What is it that's so wrong with copying the discs? Just copy, see if it copies ok, and once you've done it, delete the files from your HDD. Simple.
-
Well, I selected everything and copied disc 2, no errors came up and the movie's all play when I click on them
-
bump?
-
Which version of FF7 is it? Also, upload your ff7.exe somewhere (pack it first), I'd like to take a look at it.
-
How do I pack it? I've also never used any uploading sites before so I'm unsure how to go about it, what site would you recommend? I should have 1.02, whichever one Eidos released.
-
Use ZIP or RAR (google it) to pack the file. Upload site... Rapidshare, FileFactory, Easy-Share (to name the few).
-
I can't get it to uplaod, I keep getting "IO error"
-
Well, you can send it to my email directly then (you can find my email in my profile). You still haven't said which version of FF7 you have (like Platinum, Asia Pacific etc.), though.
-
I emailed it, did you receive it?
-
Sure, I even wrote you an email regarding it ~8 hours after you send it. Anyway, you've sent me clean 1.02 ff7.exe, and what I asked for is your ff7.exe (the one you're using).
-
hmmm, I never got your email, but that is the one I've been using, I think, I haven't played ff7 since the crashes...
-
Well, I've suggested to use the YAMP MGP patch, and you said you "did exactly as I said" - now you're saying that you've been using the clean version? Jeez...
-
Yeah, the patches won't apply at all
-
...Any suggestions? I haven't been able to play FF7 at all. I'd really like to be able to snowboard...
