Hi there, I'm new to this forum, and I have some questions about Final Fantasy VII PC version (NOT the ultima version),
in the FF7 configuration utility, I choose hardware rendering, 640x480 full screen, TNT, and I get this:
(http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/379/20601039fo6.th.png) (http://img58.imageshack.us/my.php?image=20601039fo6.png)(http://img58.imageshack.us/images/thpix.gif) (http://g.imageshack.us/thpix.php)
The result is that most of the characters feet and hands are missing, but this is mostley during events, not when I'm just walking (or running) around, also, the battles are pretty messed up:

now, the same happens when I choose Riva, except there are a lot of weird green lines on the background...
I know what you're all thinking, why don't you use software rendering?
well, I have a pretty lame computer, and softwre rendering works perfect with 320x240, 640x480 quarter screen, but lags (a lot) with 640x480 full screen, and I like full screen
What are eventual solutions to my problem?
BTW, these are my specs:
I have a "Sapphire HD 2600 Pro Ati Radeon" card, 1 gb of RAM, and my processor is 1.20 GHz (I know this is crap)
these are all the patches I installed:
the official v1.02 patch
yamp:
-9999 limit breaking
-minigames patch
-gypt
and I followed the instructions for that "portable Final fantasy VII thing"
=>movies are played from my directory, that small patch thing with ollydbg, ...
and I didn't use anything that changes char.lgp!
Please help a brother out!
PS: Should I use a "glide wrapper" or something like that, and if I do, how does this work?

sorry to doublepost, I just found this on the forum:
For use Final Fantasy VII with OpenGL:
Go to Registre Editor (regedit.exe)
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Square Soft, Inc.\Final Fantasy VII\1.00\Graphics
And use value 2 for Driver
I have test (Final Fantasy VII French with nVIDIA Patch (1.02) and my WinXP Patch) but my Voodoo 2 in Windows XP don't work correctly in OpenGL.
Sorry for my bad english
I found this by a member called CloudStrife, or something like that, and it makes the game run with OpenGL, I tested it, and there is one good thing, and a lot of bad things:
Good things:
Character and Battle models are viewed correctly!
Bad things:
You don't see dialog boxes, you don't see text, you don't see the battle windows, the backgrounds sucks ass (have pieces of green, like someone puked all over it :-P ), and the game goes way to fast!
