I don't know who to ask, but I've beta tested many games before...
Probably the most popular one is Zelda 64: Ocarina Of Time...
But I'm quite a good beta tester. Oh BTW, if you say 'no I won't mind,
I just REALLY want to try your remake before I go insane!!!
Once again, PLEASE?!?!

first - you really should look at the main site. so far the ffr has only been decoding files, remodeling things, story ideas and the like no actual playable game creation has achived as of yer. rest of the forum please correct me if i'm wrong.
second - this is not the best way to ask to become a beta tester. you should be on the forum for a whlie get ot knwo people. begging and pleading abd bragging about how good you are is going to get you no where.

If you want to beta-test, you're gonna have to wait a long time. We're still in Alpha stage...
And everything they've said so far is roughly the truth. (Although I have yet to beat those damn pyramids....)

nice. you guys close to getting textures to work?
can you smooth the polygons out? clouds biceps are "square". pun intended

Since I'm workin' on the model format, I think I can tell you something 'botu texturing. I'm able to view textures on the battle locations - that probably will be possible in the next alpha release of the Remake (members only). I just need to publish the format specs - don't worry, if everything runs fine, it'll be released before X-Mas ... (or should I say X-Mess ? ;) )

hmm... from what darkness has told me the textures are still a problem but that was a while back but you guys proabay have that figured out. ok. cool. hope to see the next alpha release :) you guys are doing a great job.

Probablky I should have marked that Battle Locations bold before. I can only display textures on Battle Locs 'till now :(

ohhh i didn't see the battle locations thing. hope the character mapping comes along :)

It'll be nice once someone finds and cracks the battle model animations though... that's one of the holdups for putting in the battle models...

First we have got to find a kind of 'HRC' file for battle models first...

yea that i knew. hehe i just like to play around with the models (giving barret breats,or more of em, and such) but thats just me. gotta find out how to edit the animations. have you guys actualy gotten that to work?

There's a tool on my website, Ifalna, that lets you view the field models, complete with animations. You can also do very *basic* animation editing too.
If you want it, get it now; like I said before, I expect my site to go down this weekend, though only for a week or two.

The Remake does use the original field models with their animations. So you can, for example, walk around the field levels at the moment, and Cloud walks, runs, etc.

PS: what do you man you like to mess around with the models? You don't even own the game. in fact, every time youve ever seen one of these programs in actions was with me doing something. :D

Uhh... guys? don't expect to be able to play the remake without FF7 installed... In fact, we are designing it so it CAN'T be played wihout FF7 installed. (or at least the disc's installed...)
That way we can't be sued (for a lot) by Squaresoft.
