Title: Game can't load after installing High Res Patch

everything works fine until i install the High Res patch, once that is installed my game will try to start and go to a black screen then just back out onto the desktop, no error msg or anything.

I'm running Vista 32 bit with a GeForce 8600M GS on my laptop.

Has anyone been able to successfully run the High Res patch with an 8000 series and vista?

either you dont have the right video card or it dont work on laptop. my laptop does the same thing.

yea i figured it has to be something with those specs, i haven't seen anyone who can run it with them since i've been searching for a fix
