Title: FFVIII PC
Post by: IN - Foker on 2009-01-19 12:14:53
OK, I just bought a new FF 8 PC on CD ROM, Well, i didn`t played it, and i have a few question :

1. When i start the game, (MENU Screen where it have NEW GAME, or CONTINUE) the text looked terrible, just the same if you
have played RPG Maker 2003 on PC. Is there any thing that can fix this??
2. And, what is Chocobo.exe ? ?

Oh, if FFVII Ultima is called pirated game, i have a friend that play some games using DAEMON (with ISO`s) so, is that can be called Piracy??

Ad 1. I would suggest you to update game to 1.02 version and/or turn of your antialiasing which may be cause of it as I recall.

Ad 2. It's a chocobo minigame in which you may find items that can be transferred to your main game. It was a separate app for old playstation handheld "console", my memory's lacking how was it called.

Ad 3. If he own the games he's using with daemon tools it's not, he just preserves his discs and drive that way. However if he downloads the games from the internet, yes. Unsure is situation in which he borrows the games from friends and uses that way. But in my opinion it's not.

It was called playstation portable ^^ not as PSP (PlayStation Portable) of these days, but it was an old portable console similar to a memory card ^^

Launching games from ISO backups is ok if you own the game. It's a lot faster than from cd/dvd drives so I would even suggest you to do it that way.

As for patch you can google for ff8 1.02 patch, or final fantasy viii 1.02 patch. You should find it within few minutes.

It's also the best way of preserving your copy of the game, just keep the discs somewhere safe

I heard that daemon tools and other programs like that piss off the "security programs" that a bunch of games ship with nowadays so they won't let you play with them installed.

Anyways,

There are two versions of the patch - one is for GeForce users only.
