Hey, everybody.
I'm completely new to the forum, and it seems I'm already asking for your help. I know that quite a lot of people have already written for help with this program, I could go through all of the posts to find the solution to my problem, (hours wasted) but instead I would just like to find help here. Now, I may not know a whole lot about hacking/editing, but I'm not a moron. I've followed the instructions to the letter and used Ficedula's lgptools and the NPC RP v0.6. However, whenever it gets to the step that I have to create and new lgp, (char2), I do so, rename the old folder, erase the old folder, and then rename char2.lgp to char.lgp. I think that I;m doing this right, but the new models don't show up in the game! This is really frustrating. I'm using windows vista, so that might have something to do with it, but maybe not. I'd be extremely grateful for any help you could give me! Thanks!

what you do is extract the field models, then you run the patch, then you click create and then you click on the new file you made.
after that it will ask for another file to rewrite, just go to the field and char.lpg and name it char.lpg and that should work
i think what you're doing is erasing the char.lpg you just made....so you're essentially erasing the change you made.
in other words don't delete the char.lpg cuase when you choose to create a new one it saves OVER the old one
hope that helps

Yeah, that would help, but now I've fiddled around with this so much that I now have multiple char files. I don't know which to extract and everytime I use the patch, it says that there are no files to update. I'm considering starting with a clean slate. Do you think I should delete all the files, then reinstall the game and try it again?

yup that's what i would do, back when i first started doing this stuff i had to reinstal at least 3 times. it's no biggie just make sure that you back up your files from now on.
